Do you remember? We talked about it a few weeks ago, about those who decide to create their own world of work.
Can Martinique attract digital nomads? Those who have mostly abandoned the chains of salaried work and embraced the freedom of entrepreneurship with frequent travels for missions ranging from a few days to several months all around the world. These people who were not afraid to dream, to wonder what they really wanted to do with their lives…and who did it. I met one for you…
A life of a Digital Nomad but not only
I won’t hide from you that I was eager to meet Ludivine GUSTAVE DIT DUFLO because just by browsing search engines, I mean behind a computer, this Guadeloupean woman already exuded something inspiring that made me want to know more. Not so much about her work, the result of which speaks louder than words, but rather about the kind of woman, the kind of character, the kind of mindset that needed to embody such a vision.
I was not disappointed! Ludivine is an expert in strategy and certified in project management, a project manager on complex and high-visibility projects, a management coach, business developer, author, and speaker. And as if that wasn’t enough, she’s also a mother of two girls, a wife, and a digital nomad because otherwise it’s not fun.
So for the past four years, this team has been traveling the world as a family to provide their expertise to companies that seek their services.
China, Bali, Beijing, Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand, the Dominican Republic, Brussels, Paris, Switzerland… so many destinations where they have settled, so many places they have been able to discover, so many adventures they have been able to experience.
Ludivine works with her husband, Mickael, also a child of Guadeloupe, who, as Director of Communication, handles coordination and global communication on the projects they undertake together. In addition to this, he has also developed a coaching business in sports and a sportswear brand, all under the name MouvStart, following his studies in physiotherapy.
Why change your life?
I tried to understand what drives established individuals (since Ludivine and her family had a rather comfortable life in Belgium) to leave their anchor and jump into such an adventure. Once the answer was stated, it finally seemed obvious to me… it was frustration and boredom in the dreariness. When you have children, as is the case in this family, it is also about offering them expanded prospects for the future, giving them access to a form of early maturity, and giving them choice. I found this ocean of options fascinating. Can you imagine being 15 and knowing how to manage an online store, or being 8 and handling new technologies better than an adult? Ludivine and Mickael have offered their daughters a different way of life, but above all a vision of the world as a playground and a place where they should not be afraid to move around without minimizing the dangers. This was one of the lessons they faced when the family had to flee the riots in Hong Kong.
As we talked, I heard and saw before me a radiant 38-year-old woman who was not afraid to live, not afraid to take risks. A woman convinced that the intentions she puts into her actions can only be positively reflected back to her. She calls this “being in service.” It is exactly what I had perceived behind my screen, a form of honesty because what she conveys is true and produces results.
Work first, results later.
Things didn’t happen by magic, they are simply the result of hard work since Mrs. Gustave Dit Duflo holds two Master’s degrees in Business Management and Intelligence Economics. Ludivine started her studies with a clearly identified goal of becoming a business owner before turning 40… and she achieved this ahead of schedule at the age of 30 with the launch of Madizy Management, her company that supports executives and their managers.
A few years later, based on her own experience, Ludivine identified a simple and pragmatic “routine” to help clarify, plan, and succeed in one’s own business. This is how she developed “The 5 4 3 2 1 Method” which she presents in her best-selling book, “Go from Idea to Action!” She is now on her third book.
It is safe to say that, as Ludivine herself puts it, she is taking infinite risks.
Ludivine crée également un lieu d’échanges pour les femmes dans le but de les motiver à relever les défis liés à leurs activités et leur environnement avec le blog/magazine Ose Vivre Blog – Combining Passion and Business, Female Entrepreneur.
