The reward is at the end, you will then land on the only black sand beach on the south coast of Martinique.
Anse Noire Martinique: A Volcanic Land
Formed over millennia from the decomposition of volcanic rocks, the sands of black beaches, including the darkening lava, offer beauty enthusiasts an intense blue water, close to turquoise.
However, caution is necessary; due to its ability to retain more heat, it's preferable to traverse this beach with soft and lightweight footwear.
Anse Noire Beach: Exceptional Marine Depths
Equipped with a mask, snorkel, and fins, you'll discover one of the best snorkeling spots in Martinique. During your day at Anse Noire, you'll likely encounter a multitude of coral fish, including angelfish, butterflyfish, or blue damselfish.
Close to the rocks and beneath the pontoon, a rich and varied ecosystem thrives with sea urchins, starfish, and sea cucumbers. If luck is on your side, you might come face to face with a green sea turtle indulging in the sea grass it particularly enjoys.
Walking or Kayaking
For those who love walks and breathtaking viewpoints, the hiking trail of Traces d’Arlet offers various routes ranging from 3 to 9 kilometers along the Morne Réduit ridge.
Regarding kayaking, head to the colorful hut on the beach. Besides local crafts, you can rent a kayak there and explore the coastline.
