The Pointe Borgnèse: a hidden paradise of Martinique
Little praised by tourist guides, Pointe Borgnèse is nevertheless one of the most beautiful beaches of Martinique. Nestled between the lush forest and the Caribbean Sea, Pointe Borgnèse boasts a white sand beach and crystal clear turquoise waters.
Pointe Borgnèse Martinique: Two Possible Options
Pointe Borgnèse has something to offer for everyone. For those who want to relax, sunbathe on the beach, or simply observe the underwater life, follow the rocky path straight ahead.
Allow about 5 minutes for the descent.
Once you reach the beach, you can choose to stay there or take a small path on the left, which will lead you to the second beach at Pointe Borgnèse, offering guaranteed tranquility!
For the more adventurous souls who want to stretch their legs, start from the parking area, take the beginning of the rocky path, and immediately veer left into the forest. Of course, you can still enjoy a swim at the end of the hike.
A Paradise for Snorkeling Enthusiasts
If you're a fan of snorkeling, you've come to the right place! Pointe Borgnèse is a protected natural reserve, teeming with coral reefs, tropical fish, and shells. Lucky visitors may even spot octopuses or squids. The water's transparency provides excellent visibility, especially on sunny days.
Pro tip: When you're on the beach, walk along the rocks to the left and continue observing the underwater world all the way to the point. This way, you can avoid the seagrass beds, which are less interesting during the stroll.

Pointe Borgnese Le Marin: An Overlooked Hiking Spot
Rest assured, the trail remains flat throughout the hike and is easily doable for families with children. Just make sure to wear sneakers and avoid hiking in flip-flops or barefoot.
The beginning of the trail is in the heart of the forest, but after a short while (about 15 minutes), the view will start to open up, and you'll be able to admire the surroundings: Sainte-Luce, Morne Larcher, the Diamond Rock…
The view is breathtaking! From the top, Pointe Borgnese may be even more beautiful, as you can truly observe the various shades of blue that make it up.
When you reach an "intersection" on the trail, take the path to the right to descend towards the beach and finally take a swim in the crystal-clear waters.
From the hiking trail, you'll arrive directly at the second cove of Pointe Borgnese, which is less crowded than the first.
How to Access Pointe Borgnese?
Pointe Borgnese may still be relatively unknown because its access is not the easiest to find. In other words, you won't stumble upon it by chance!
By car, take the RN5 between Sainte-Luce and Le Marin. You'll see a very small parking area on the right, and this is where you should stop.
Some boat companies also offer day trips to enjoy swimming or snorkeling at Pointe Borgnese.
On the way back to your car, you won't be able to avoid the (slightly challenging, we admit) climb up the rocky path. Don't worry; it really doesn't last very long (5 minutes at most). And besides, such a beautiful beach is worth the effort!
