Another key date in the month of May, and surely the most important one as it is anchored in our DNA, is May 22nd, 1848. Martinique Airlocal and I wanted to meet with Steeve THIBAUT, founder of Xwé Kilombo, a concept that goes far beyond a “simple atypical accommodation.”
To fully enjoy the place, it is crucial to be sensitive to the philosophy, authenticity, and spirituality. You will understand why by immersing yourself in Steeve’s speech.
“Through a hut, one can understand the soul of a people” – Steeve THIBAUT
Thank you Steeve, for your passion, your time, and sharing your experience #lanmou.

In order to be in tune with oneself, every individual, no matter who they are, needs to answer 3 fundamental existential questions:
- Where do we come from ?
- Who are we ?
- And where are we going ? The concept of Xwé Kilombo is a good example because it allows us to link our past, present, and future.
I don’t know about you, but I am in awe when I see the roots of our ancestors and the traditions that stem from them perpetuated in some of our consumption habits, as well as in the reflection we have on life, on our life.
Not so long ago, this sentence resounded in unison in the latest societal struggles and demonstrations, “Tjwé mwen, zansèt paka mò”.This sentence, due to its meaning and strength, makes perfect sense on this May 22.
Good commemoration to all. ⛓🤎
