Trois-Rivières Distillery
Trois-Rivières Distillery: Discovering Flavors Martinique has a multitude of distilleries on its territory. The Trois-Rivières plantation has the particularity of housing one of the first distilleries on the island. Located in Sainte-Luce, it offers an incredible panorama and is mainly recognizable for its windmill.
Distillerie 3 Rivieres Martinique: A Traditional History
Established around 1660, this plantation initially focused on sugar production before gradually and exclusively turning to agricultural rum production. The name "Trois-Rivières" originates from its location near three rivers named Oman, Bois d’Inde, and Saint-Pierre.
Guides will passionately narrate the story behind the ancestral methods of agricultural rum making. In 2004, the production of Trois-Rivières was transferred from Sainte-Luce to Rivière-Pilote. However, the sugar cane plantation remains at its original location.
3 Rivers Rum Distillery: A Precious Craftsmanship
Spread across hundreds of hectares of land, the sugar canes thrive in clayey, rocky, magnesium-rich soils. These benefits unleash the plant's potential, determining the flavorful qualities of the rums produced thereafter.
Predominantly situated in one of the sunniest areas of the island, a significant portion of the sugar canes is hand-cut to preserve the aromatic richness of the plantation.
3 Rivers Distillery: a Wide Range of Rum
The distillery offers a multitude of rum ranges. Some more innovative than others, they come in various colors, catering to both habitual consumers and the more adventurous. Traditionally offered are the piña colada, ti punch, and planteur.
The richness of the production sparks creativity in cocktail crafting. For added flavors, the juices are diverse, imparting a unique taste to each preparation!
Recognized Qualities
The Trois-Rivières distillery has received several accolades, earning its reputation. It has participated in numerous competitions, even on an international scale, repeatedly securing the gold medal.
