Cascade du Carbet Martinique: A Haven of Peace in the Heart of Nature
Among the hidden gems of Martinique, the Carbet River offers a magnificent waterfall that resembles a slide. It overlooks a pool with a height of about 3 meters, perfect for taking a plunge and enjoying a refreshing swim in the rushing waters. You can also relax on the pebble beach along the river.
This secluded river is a delight for hikers, but it's somewhat isolated, requiring a 45-minute walk to reach. The trail is not well-marked, and you'll need to walk through the river for about 2 km, but this journey promises delightful discoveries. Birdsong and natural pools will enhance your walk. It's a true paradise for hikers and those who seek tranquility.
How to Get to the Cascade du Carbet?
To reach the starting point of the hiking trail from the town of Carbet, head to the gas station and turn right onto the D62 road. Continue until you reach the former Aqualand water park. You can park directly in the parking lot of the old amusement park or continue for another minute by car to reach a second parking lot located next to a small bridge.
You are now at the starting point of a river hike in Martinique that will take you 45 minutes to reach the Cascade du Carbet.
What to Do Around Carbet After My Hike?
The location of Carbet by the seaside allows you to enjoy various water activities or thematic outings to discover marine biodiversity (diving, boat trips, etc.). You can also visit the Neisson estate. Located just 30 meters from the sea, this distillery offers guided tours and rum tastings. If you have the budget, you can even stay in an exceptional villa located inside the distillery.
