In 1985, the idea of enhancing the maritime dynamics of Le Marin municipality was put forward, with the construction of a marina shortly after, under the leadership of the then-mayor, Rodolphe Désiré. The success was immediate!
In the 2000s, five pontoons were added, including one that would accommodate cruise ships. Marinois tourism then experienced a significant upswing, with very positive effects.
By 2010, another 4,500 square meters were put into service, marking an important turning point for the Marin marina.
Since then, the marina has continued to expand and attract not only residents from nearby municipalities but also visitors from all walks of life. It's safe to say that this place leaves no one indifferent!

What to Do Near the Marina du Marin?
The Creole Garden of Ecotours is one of those places that's hard to believe exists because it can seem incredible and unreal. However, despite its very colorful and diverse palette, you're not dreaming—this place does indeed exist. Located in the Pérou district, this botanical garden allows nature to thrive in its own way. The wide variety of ornamental flowers, medicinal plants, and fruit trees gives it an extraordinary rural charm. The added bonus? A breathtaking view of the Atlantic Ocean!
Not far from Anse Grosse Roche, the Cap Macré Beach is very famous, and for good reason. Its thick sand and roaring waves are a hit. You'll find plenty of spaces for picnicking with family or friends, sheltered by raisin trees. The blue of the sea blends splendidly with the blue of the sky and the white of the sand. It's not easy to access, and therefore not very crowded, which enhances the feeling of being at the end of the world.
You can also visit the estate of Habitation Montgérald. Built in the 1830s, this residence, which was once occupied by the Charron family, is a testament to the colonial era. Classified as a historical monument in Martinique since 1993, this estate is a must-visit as it is filled with history and memories of a bygone era!
How to Access the Marina du Marin?
The Marina du Marin is easily accessible from the main cities of Martinique. If you arrive by plane, Aimé Césaire International Airport is about a 30-minute drive from the marina.
To get to the marina by car from the airport, you can take the N5 towards Sainte-Anne and then follow the signs for the D7 to Le Marin. Once in the village, you can follow the signs to the marina.
If you prefer public transportation, you can take a bus from downtown Fort-de-France to the Le Marin bus station, which is a short walk from the marina.
Finally, if you arrive by boat, you can access the Marina du Marin from the sea by following the appropriate navigation instructions. Whatever your mode of transportation, you can easily access the Marina du Marin and enjoy the activities or start your sea adventure from the south of Martinique.
