Carbet Beach Martinique: A Remarkable Site

Are you looking to rejuvenate, soak up the sun, and swim in an exceptional setting? Lay down your towel at Carbet Beach!

Also known as Coin Beach, Carbet Beach stretches for nearly a kilometer along the town of Carbet on the north coast of Martinique, on the Caribbean coast.

As you lounge on a beach chair in the shade of the palm trees, you'll enjoy the breathtaking view of Montagne Pelée.

The vast expanse of light gray fine sand also offers plenty of space for strolling along the Caribbean coastline. During your walk, you'll come across a beautiful wooden pier extending out into the sea. Don't resist the urge to take a dip!

The beach is also a fabulous playground for games like beach volleyball, frisbee, or beach soccer.

The beach of Carbet, a historical site

Anse du Carbet is the beach where the first European to set foot in Martinique, Christopher Columbus, on June 15, 1602. The French colony was then established in 1635 with the arrival of Pierre Belain d’Esnambuc.

In Carbet, fishing is an essential activity. Many gommiers, the traditional pirogues of Martinique, are on the beach or at anchor.

In the evening, the fishermen bring back their catch before sunset. Just a few steps away, bars and restaurants await you with their fish specialties. Have a good time in this little paradise and enjoy the local food!
